Newly elected member of the Baseball Hall of Fame Andre Dawson met with reporters Thursday to discuss his being voted into the Hall by the Baseball Writers. He said he was optimistic this would be his year.

Andre Dawson has been honored with election to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers of America. He waited nine years to be elected and is the only former player being enshrined this year.
